The magazine is well known for providing a solid and reliable list over the years - produced biannually - and is well respected across the industry.
In the 2020/21 edition there are just four courses that are included in the list but don't feature in the comparable Golf Monthly, National Club Golfer and Top 100 website rankings. These are; Southerness, New Zealand, Portsalon and Little Aston.
There are no courses not included in Golf World that feature in all three of the other lists.
Overall it is a very strong and uncontroversial list.
Golf Empire founder, Ed Battye, has played the majority of courses on the list and below you can find links to his golf course reviews with his own personal thoughts.
