The magazine is well known for providing a solid and reliable list over the years - produced biannually - and is well respected across the industry.
In the 2024/5 edition there are just two courses that are included in the list but don't feature in any of the comparable Golf Monthly, National Club Golfer and Top 100 website rankings. The courses are Royal Ashdown Forest (Old) and Southerness.
There are no courses not included in Golf World that feature in all three of the other lists.
Overall it is a very strong and uncontroversial list.
Pleasingly, the magazine also produce a 101 to 200 list - this allows us to see which courses were closest to making the top 100. The only notable course which does not make an appearance in the top 200 is Royal Dublin.

Golf Empire founder, Ed Battye, has played the majority of courses on the list (99 out of 100) and below you can find links to his golf course reviews below with his own personal thoughts.
