National Club Golfer Great Britain & Ireland Top 100 Golf Courses List
It is a lively collection of courses with a number of venues included that do not figure in the comparable Golf Monthly, Golf World and Top 100 website rankings.
Indeed there are six courses in total that are included in this list but don't feature at all in the other three publications. A quintet of Scottish links are the most notable inclusions; Luffness New, Moray (Old), Panmure, Gailes Links and Dunbar. We welcome this freshness and are delighted to see these excellent links featured at the expense of inferior inland courses. The other venue is Beau Desert.
As expected from a new list there are no glaring omissions although Broadstone and Walton Heath (New) are not to be seen here whereas they do feature in all three of the other lists. Dumbarnie Links is also not included but that is because it was not open when the list was produced and will surely be included within the next edition.
In summary the list is a welcome edition to the usual rankings and hopefully provides some freshness.
