National Club Golfer Top 100 England

National Club Golfer Top 100 Golf Courses England List

National Club Golfer Magazine produced their latest Top 100 England in 2021 and the results can be seen below. The methodology, which placed an emphasis on the number of times and how recently the panel had played the courses, ensured some varied results!

NCG first published an England list in 2017 and whilst this latest iteration will raise some eyebrows it is a marked improvement on the inaugural version.

Comparing it to the equivalent lists from Golf World and the Top 100 website there are 9 courses that exclusively feature on this list. These are; Sutton Coldfield, Royal Cromer, Yelverton, London (Heritage), Bude & North Cornwall, Copt Heath, Dunstanburgh Castle, Enville (Highgate) and West Sussex National (West).

As you may expect all of these are in the bottom third of the list with Sutton Coldfield the highest placed at 80th position.

At the opposite end of the scale there is no sign of St. Mellion (Nicklaus) or Bearwood Lakes here but they are included in the other two lists.

*The courses at Wentworth (West & East), Woburn (Marquess, Dukes & Duchess) along with Coombe Hill were not considered at the clubs request.

Golf Empire founder, Ed Battye, was a panel member and has played 99 of the courses on the list and below you can find links to his golf course reviews with his own personal thoughts.
