Please note that we have stopped the list at 25 for Ireland as we believe the quality at 25th place is roughly the equivalent to 100th place in the English list, 50th place in the Scottish list and 20th place in the Welsh list.

There are four courses in this list that do not feature in the two comparable lists from Golf World and National Club Golfer magazines. These are Narin & Portnoo, Royal Dublin, Donegal and Cork.
There are two courses that are included in both the other lists but not here. They are Portsalon and Connemara.
